This place can get crowded and boy they give a lot of noodles for their number 1 option on their menu, Xe Lua! It's an extra large bowl of pho! I ordered the pho to go and since it was raining, it was nice that the food was packaged in a brown paper bag along with a plastic bag to go. Double packaging. Once I got back to work, I opened the bag and took out the contents and immediately knew it was a lot of food. The soup broth was to the top and I tried to fill the bowl with all the noodles and it doesn't work. The bowl was not big enough and every time I put more noodles in it, the soup broth wants to spill out. Noodles were very slender and smooth and the seasoning of the broth made the noodles very savory and juicy. Apart from the slices of beef and brisket, there was a piece of mint, bean sprouts, lemon wedge, scallions, chives, and cilantro. So many ingredients to spice up the soup. Luckily the pho was that big for me to have enough for dinner leftovers so it's a plus that they gave a lot of noodles.

Solid choice for Vietnamese food in Chinatown! I will say that most Vietnamese food in Chinatown is a bit more Chinese-Vietnamese but I heard Vietnamese being spoken by the staff in the restaurant so that is pretty authentic. The restaurant is quite busy and lively but there are many seats and food came very quickly, about 5-10 minutes after we ordered, maybe even less. We got the grilled chicken pho and the grilled pork and spring roll rice vermicelli bun. The pho broth was flavorful and you can taste the different spices and herbs like mint. The spring rolls were very yummy and crispy! The meat portions were very large and we had trouble finishing it all.

The ambiance is that of a bustling restaurant. Usually, you're seated soon upon arrival with a cup of warm tea. Today, I got the calamari and spring rolls. The calamari was more like a salad and would have sufficed for lunch for one . The red sauce, in case anyone is wondering, is sweet and goes well with the calamari. Have been coming here for a couple of years now and they've been pretty consistent. Would recommend to friends and family.

It was raining and cold outside and so we decided to come here and get some pho. This was perfect because it definitely warm up our tummy and satisfy our hunger. With that in mind, I love a good bowl of pho and here at Thai Son, they have a lot of choices for you to choice from which is great. I ended up getting their small pho with grilled pork chop. Maybe I like the fattier cut but I felt my pork chop was a bit too dry. Regardless it was still good. We also order their fried frog legs. This was my first having it at a Vietnamese restaurant and I'm going to sound like the rest, it taste like chicken. Lol.. As for service, it's fast and I like that they did not rush us out when we were done. They let us take our sweet time to leave so that was a bonus.

This place looks like it has the same menu, decor, staff and everything that another Vietnamese restaurant has called Nam Son...maybe it's the same owners because the resemblance is striking. We ordered the rice vermicelli and the taste was the same. We loved it and now we know that if we're ever in that part of Chinatown near Canal Street as opposed to Grand Street that we can get great Viet food.

We dined here tonight with some friends. My husband and our friends really like this place. The service is good and the staff are friendly. The restaurant is clean and is always busy, which is a good thing. I'm the only one with diet restrictions so I ordered summer rolls with shrimp and vegetables and peanut sauce as well as combination Of Seafood On Crispy Egg Noodle. I enjoyed the summer rolls and the seafood dish. The only thing I didn't like about the seafood dish with crispy noodle was that a small part of the noodles was burnt. I cut that part out. I wish there was a bit more sauce so I could soak the noodles more. Everyone enjoyed their food.
